The conflicts that arise from disputes over water, are becoming more frequent. Recently published news stories illustrate the importance of this problem. Less than a month ago the Dutch Broadcast Foundation (NOS) reported about conflicts concerning water in the Middle-East.
Take a look at the following news item, to become aware of the urgency of this problem.
Averting a perfect storm of shortages Not only is the news reporting more frequently and more urgently about water related problems, different kind of institutions feel this need as well. Check the following websites to see what is being said about this topic. http://www.globalpolicy.org/security-council/dark-side-of-natural-resources/water-in-conflict.html The scale and influence of the water issue may be apparent. In the Annual Conference we will try to formulate solutions for the discussed problems concerning water. Together we can formulate solutions to existing problems. Since IAPSS offers us a unique platform for inter-cultural dialogue and exchange of knowledge, our formulated solutions will be based on knowledge and experience from all over the world. Join the conference in April and play an active role in the process of sharing knowledge and formulating solutions. |
