Dear members of IAPSS,
Over the last two months an enthusiastic organizing committee has put all its energy in the organization of a fantastic annual conference. Whereas the previous newsletter introduced the plans of the Annual Conference of 2010, this newsletter further elaborates upon these plans. In this newsletter you will find news items concerning the theme of the conference (Whirlpool Politics: Water as a Global Challenge) to illustrate the importance of this urgent international problem. Furthermore, the committee will present itself and the most recent updates about the conference are shared with you.

Sign of a Worldwide Problem

The conflicts that arise from disputes over water, are becoming more frequent. Recently published news stories illustrate the importance of this problem. Less than a month ago the Dutch Broadcast Foundation (NOS) reported about conflicts concerning water in the Middle-East. Take a look at the following news item, to become aware of the urgency of this problem.
